Bethesda yesterday announced via their BFG of knowledge, the release date and price of what is the best game being released this year and the Granddaddy of all first person shooters, DOOM 3 BFG Edition, which features re-mastered editions of both DOOM 3 and Resurrection of Evil add-on pack, as well as seven new levels in an all new adventure entitled “The Lost Mission”.

The game has been completely re-worked for modern consoles and offering enhanced visuals, 5.1 surround sound, Xbox 360 achievements and PSN trophies, a new checkpoint save system allowing for smoother progression through the game. It also features a new armour mounted flash-light which means you will no longer have to switch between your gun and flash-light, although I feel that this could potentially ruin the tenseness and claustrophobic feel of DOOM 3, but we’ll have to wait and see. DOOM 3 BFG Edition also features both DOOM and DOOM 2 making it the definitive collection for all fans of DOOM.

DOOM 3 BFG Edition
is slated for release throughout Europe on October 19th 2012 and will be available for PC at a cost of £19.99 and on Xbox 360 and PS3 for £29.99.
