Phoenix Wright isn’t Capcom’s biggest name here in the West, although he has blown up in popularity in the last couple years. Believe it or not its the 10th anniversary of the Ace Attorney series in Japan, and Capcom announced a few exciting things to celebrate.

It was announced that Capcom is indeed working on Ace Attorney 5 a direct main title in the series, not a Miles Edgeworth or Apollo Justice game like we’ve seen recently. It was also announced that Capcom is working on HD versions of the first three games that will be released on iOS later this year. Good news for people who never got to experience them.

And one more good piece of news for fans, is the announcement that the live action Phoenix Wright movie will be getting a worldwide release. The film made by Japanese director Miike Takashi recently debuted at the International Film Festival Rotterdam.  During a Q&A session there Takashi said that the film will see worldwide release with each region receiving specific dubs and subs using the character names from the Phoenix Wright games used in that region.

The Ace Attorney series is certainly one of the stranger ones out there, but its a whole lot of fun at the same time. And its great to see the feature film, which clocks in at nearly 2 1/2 hours, get a worldwide release.
