To celebrate the upcoming launch of Super Mario 3D Land, Nintendo turned New York’s Military Island at Times Square into the real thing this weekend. Fans were treated to a real-life video game world with a life-sized warp pipe, trampoline coin jump, and a flagpole finale. Those who attended the event were given the opportunity to try out the upcoming title ahead of the official release date.
Many of the fans that showed up dressed up as the popular Nintendo icon and experienced the replica world for themselves. Those who tweeted the hashtag, #supermario3d, were given a free slice of pizza. Also in attendance was celebrity Jon Bon Jovi, who enjoyed the event with his family.
