Criterion Games, part of EA, just announced that over two million gamers have downloaded the Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit demo, since its release on October 26th.  With this comes some rather impressive statistics for such a small period of time, including : 700,000 posts to the in-game speed wall, 5 million Autolog Recommendations as part of Hot Pursuit’s social networking platform, 54 million miles of road raced, and 20 million cop busts completed.

The demo took players through the streets of Seacrest County in two events of cops and robbers.  Racers also got a taste of Need for Speed Autolog, which automatically tracks and compares each gamer’s performances.  Autolog aims to connect players together, while challenging friends based on what they’ve been doing in the game.  Watch for Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit on November 16 on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii, and PC.
