It’s August over here in the UK, which probably means it’s August everywhere else as well. I love the way the calendar works. Anyway, what this means is that in less than a week, a new football season will begin.
As the overpaid, over-pampered, and oversexed superstars of the various leagues around Europe limber up and prepare to injure themselves on the first day of the season, the two giants of videogame football, EA and Konami, begin to ramp up the hype for their annual releases.
Today it’s Konami’s turn to tease us with newly released screenshots of Pro Evolution Soccer 2012, showcasing what they refer to as ‘groundbreaking game elements that have been added to create a more immersive gameplay experience for Pro Evolution Soccer 2012‘.
Among them, gameplay, shooting movement, and reactions have been improved and control is no longer totally lost when defenders bump attackers off the ball. The new Teammate Control system allows the user to control two players at once, prompting runs or drawing defenders with one player, while the other player holds the ball up. Sounds like I may finally have more success with this version. By which I mean losing 4-0 to that kid from France instead of 8-0.
