Since the massive attack on the PSN happened on April 20th, we’ve all been wondering when features will start returning. Now that the theft questions are out of the way (somewhat) the next thing for Sony to move onto is bringing back the Playstation’s online features. A week or so back, Sony had claimed some features would be operational by May 3rd. Obviously this hasn’t happened, and if a new report by Bloomberg is correct, gamers may have to wait until May 31st to hop onto the PSN once again.
Shigenori Yoshida, the spokesperson for Sony is quoted as saying, “The Company is in the process of adopting an improved security system and its plan to restart the services fully by May 31 is unchanged.” In addition, a recent update to the playstation blog announces that the PSN is in “final stages of internal testing.”
Today’s most recent update on the playstation blog has also said that while full functionality of the PSN is expected to be back on May 31st, the company does hope to restore online game play before that date.
