I have been on a bit of a retro kick recently; I dusted off my old Super Nintendo Entertainment System and dug out some of my all time favorite games.

During this hazy, nostalgic haze between controlling a giant worm in a spacesuit to collecting pieces of heart container I thought I would list my all time favorite Top 10 SNES games! Enjoy!

# 10 – Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

We start off this list with an absolute bombshell of a franchise! Released in 1991 and the third Zelda game in the series, we see Link once again heading into the unknown to gather various weapons and equipment to defeat the evil Gannon and rescue the Princess Zelda.  This game took adventuring to the next level in terms of level design, not only did you have the normal ‘light’ world but you could also switch to the ‘dark’ world allowing you a different dimension to solve puzzles and further explore the world.  This was possible because most Nintendo games only used roughly 4 Mbit (512 KB) of memory. This game broke the trend by using 8 Mbit (1 MB), allowing the Nintendo development team to create a remarkably expansive world for Link to inhabit.
