In this blog, we’ll be taking a look at some of the best mobile games to look forward to in 2015. Every game on this list has been planned to release at some point over the next few months, so get your calendars ready, and keep some change spare, because these are games you won’t want to miss.
Mortal Kombat X
Adam already mentioned the other day that Mortal Kombat X will be coming to mobile devices, and I personally cannot wait. Whilst I will be picking up Mortal Kombat X for my PS4, I personally wouldn’t mind having a more portable option as well. Like NetherRealm’s previous game, Injustice: Gods Among Us, Mortal Kombat X for mobile will have a ‘card battling’ system that incorporates a trading card element into fights. This is great because it allows the game to be free, whilst offering options for loyal players to spend a bit of money to support the developers. We are assuming the mobile version of Mortal Kombat X will release alongside the full version, on April 14th.
Dungeon Hunter 5
If you have been following the Dungeon Hunter franchise by Gameloft, you’ll know that the fourth installment wasn’t received too well by mobile gamers. Fortunately, Gameloft look very excited to announce their next title, Dungeon Hunter 5, and I think we’ll see considerable improvements from the fourth game. So far, we know very little about Dungeon Hunter 5, besides from the fact that it will be releasing March 12th.
BlazBlue: Battle Cards
BlazBlue: Battle Cards is another mobile fighting game that will feature a trading card element. It looks as if BlazBlue: Battle Cards will have much more of a focus on the TCG element of things though, so you’re more than likely to spend your time trading cards with your opponents, as opposed to trading fists. No release date has been given yet, but we can’t imagine it will be too long before we’re given a date.
Knights of Pen and Paper 2
Knight of Pen and Paper is one of the best mobile RPGS of all time, and now we are going to get a second game in the franchise. Paradox Interactive have just announced Knights of Pen and Paper 2, and we’ll be hearing more about it at GDC. So far, we know the game will include 16-bit style graphics, but that’s about it. The release date of Knights of Pens and Paper 2 is set for May 14th.
Hopefully you’re getting excited for the great mobile games to look forward to in 2015. This is just a small taster, and there are bound to be many more great games soon.
