If you are a fan of 8-bit retro arcade games, then you’ll be happy to hear that Gunslugs 2 has been under development for some time, and it has almost arrived. For those unaware, the Gunslugs series has been created by OrangePixel – a development studio that has dedicated their lives to creating great 8-bit retro style games.

From  what we have seen so far, Gunslugs 2 looks like a amped up, more arcade-style Metal Slug, with graphics that better fits in with today’s idea of what 8-bit games are all about. Gameplay is incredibly fast paced, and this can make things very exciting, whilst equally challenging.

OrangePixel have always created games that have a perfect balance of good gameplay and challenge, and from what I have seen, Gunslugs 2 offers this same renowned OrangePixel formula. Honestly, there are not enough games on the app store that offer a real challenge like Gunslugs, so if you are up for something that offers a bit more of a ‘wholesome’ gaming experience, you should definitely give Gunslugs 2 a check over once it has launched.

Going by the prices of previous games released by OrangePixel, we are assuming Gunslugs 2 will be put up for sale for around $1.49-$1.99, but this should there will not be any in-app purchases in the game. We’ll let you know the price once the full game is up.

Gunslugs 2 will be released on Thursday the 15th, at which point we will release our full review for the title. In the meantime, you can check out the Gunslugs 2 demo here. The demo can be downloaded for Windows, Mac and Linux – unfortunately there does not seem to be an .apk of the demo, so if you’re looking to get your mobile gaming fingers on the go, you’ll have to keep yourself occupied with other gamestill the 15th.
