We’ve always been fans of games that do things a little different here at Slimgamer, and if you feel the same way you are in for a treat. Ubisoft surprised iOS gamers will a little game by the name of Valiant Hearts back in September, and today Valiant Hearts: The Great War for Android has finally arrived.
Valiant Hearts: The Great War not only has a cool sounding name, it also has a cool premise. As the name implies, it’s the tale of WWI or “The Great War” that took its toll on the world back in 1914. Coming from a company like Ubisoft, you may be thinking Valiant Hearts is a shooter, but you would be sorely mistaken as it’s actually an interactive novel adventure game hybrid. Just let that sink in for a minute…
The narrative of the game takes place during WWI, and while does play out like a graphic novel, there are different characters to control and each has a special skill. There are also puzzles, but not the typical kind. Valiant Hearts: The Great War is broken down into four different chapters, the first comes with the initial purchase and chapters 2-4 can be picked up through IAP’s.
We haven’t had a chance to play Valiant Hearts: The Great War for Android, but its iOS counterpart has been well received by gamers and critics alike. The first chapter can be yours for $4.99, and each additional episode will set you back $4.48. There’s a “combo” pack you can buy with episodes 2-4 if you want to save a few bucks, and there is a $15 version for Android TV listed on the Play Store as well.
Valiant Hearts: The Great War for Android isn’t going to be a game for everyone, and it’s certainly not a “cheerful” game, because War. That said, it’s well worth your time if you’re looking for something different, and you can pick it up at the link below.
