We tend to get a little excited anytime a new Ubisoft mobile tie-in comes to our smartphones and tablets as you never know what you’re going to get. Far Cry 4 dropped today and Ubi released the very unexpected Far Cry 4 Arcade Poker Game.
When you think “Far Cry” poker probably isn’t the first thing to come to mind. We’re not sure the Far Cry 4 Arcade Poker Game will change that, but it’s an interesting game to say the least. It’s also Poker in the loosest sense of the word…
Far Cry Poker gives you five cards to make the best hand, but it isn’t Draw or Stud poker. The cards fall from the sky, and you can slide them down into your hand or watch them drift down slowly on their own. Sounds boring doesn’t it? Well, it would be if tapping the falling cards didn’t cause them to change. You generally don’t find levels in poker games either.
When you tap on a card in Far Cry 4 Poker it changes into a different card, and this is how you’ll make your hand. Each level has a requirement to meet (two pair, flush, etc..), and as you progress around the map you unlock new power-ups. One involves a card-eating crocodile so you could say they are unique. You can “turn” your Facebook pals into Jokers, so there’s a bit of a social element to things as well.
Far Cry 4 Arcade Poker isn’t a full-fledged poker game, but it is a great way to pass the time and an interesting take on the game. It’s also free to download, so you’ve got nothing to lose if you dig Poker or Far Cry. You can pick up Ubi’s Far Cry 4 Arcade Poker for free on Google Play or the App Store if you want to give it a go.
