2K games surprised a lot of us when they released WWE Super Card, and they’ve really thrown us for a loop today. The NBA season is about to kick off, and 2K has dropped a basketball themed card battling game to celebrate with MyNBA2K15.
MyNBA2K15 is essentially WWE Super Card, but with basketball and a few minor tweaks. The goal is to build yourself an “ultimate team” through drawing cards and battling in simulated matches. The layout is the same, but the gameplay is a bit different this time around as you’ll have a team of 5 just like you get on the hardwood.
You can play Exhibition matches or a “season” which is the tournament mode from Super Card. You can also sync up to the console version of NBA 2K15 to keep tabs on your team and earn some extra in-game currency. You don’t have to own the game to play though, MyNBA2K15 is a full-fledged mobile game and the tie-in is just an added bonus.
I haven’t had a chance to spend much time with MyNBA2K15 yet, but the card’s carry the same common, uncommon, rare setup as its WWE counterpart. That said, there are a lot more players in the NBA, so there are going to be a slew of cards to collect in MyNBA2K15. I haven’t seen any NBA legends yet, but there is a Michael Jordan card listed as a reward, so they’re definitely included.
WWE Super Card was a pleasant surprise, and so far the same can be said for MyNBA2K15. The actual games require a little more strategy, and there’s more depth in this one as well. In a nutshell, you’ll love it if you dig Super Card, CCG’s or the NBA. We’ll be back with a full review of MyNBA2K15 in the near future, until then hit up the link below and get your game on.
