The NVIDIA Shield has slowly crept its way into gamer’s hearts, and while the original was nothing to sneeze at, people have been anxiously awaiting the sequel. If a new report is true, the NVIDIA Shield 2 may hit retailers next month.
A new report pegs the NVIDIA Shield 2’s release date for July 22 which is less than a month away. As you’d expect, nothing official has been confirmed, but it’s rumored to be a “Global” release this time around so everyone will be able to pick up the handheld.
The NVIDIA Shield 2 is believed to be supercharged with a Tegra K1 clocked at 2.5GHz and a GeForce Kepler GPU. Throw in 4GB of RAM and that fancy PC streaming and you’ve got yourself a hell of a handheld that will sell like wildfire if priced right. One can only assume that NVIDIA will amp things up and go big with the Shield 2.
