Simulation games come in many different forms, and if you want to simulate something, there’s a good chance there’s a game for you. Sheltered is a new sim that’s seeking funding on Kickstarter, and if survival games are your thing, you’ll want to keep reading.
Sheltered is a survival simulator where family comes first as it’s your job to keep your clan safe at all costs. Nuclear war has ravaged the land, and thankfully you thought ahead. You’ve got an underground shelter to help keep the radiation at bay, but you’ll still have to manage your limited supplies if you want to stay alive.
Keeping tabs on your food, water, and air is just the tip of the iceberg in Sheltered. Monsters lurk outside your shelter thanks to the radiation, and if your supplies get low, you’ll have to deal with them along with the fallout. People also tend to go a little cuckoo in confined spaces so you’ll want to keep an eye on the family to make sure their mental status is ok.
When you’re not dealing with all the situations we’ve already discussed, you’ll spend the rest of your time worrying over survivors. Should you let them in or leave them to die? Maybe you should just let them in and then kill them so you don’t have to worry about it later. The choice is yours and the game is open-ended so you write the storyline of this nuclear family.
Sheltered has around 19 days left in its Kickstarter campaign, and at the time of this writing they’ve raised around £10,500 of their £15,000 goal. The game is well on the way to being made, but anything can happen so there’s no time like the present if you dig the game and want to see it made. The low price of £4 (around $6 bucks) will snag you a copy of Sheltered and higher pledge levels can get you alpha/beta access, t-shirts, and more.
If all goes as planned, Unicube will give Sheleted a wide release on PC, Mac & Linux in May of 2015. If you’re interested in finding out more about the game, just hit up the link below.
