Tetris blew people away in the 80s, and it’s still going strong today, so it’s no surprise that we still see Tetris clones 30 years later. 99 Bricks: Wizard Academy is a new iOS game that definitely has that same falling block vibe, but it’s more about building than clearing. There are also Wizards…
Building is the name of the game in 99 Bricks: Wizard Academy, as your goal is to try and stack the falling blocks onto a little house. You can move them around a bit like you can in Tetris, but Tetris this is not. Physics come into play quickly, and if your tower isn’t stable, it’s going to topple. You’ll also have to deal with irritated wizards firing off spells to impede your progress – luckily you’ve got some spells of your own.
As 99 Bricks: Wizard Academy is an endless builder of sorts there are no levels or new areas to unlock. There are plenty of unlockables though and you’ll be able to spend your coins on new duds, spells and various other helpful things. Needless to say, the replay factor should be there just like it is in Tetris and other puzzlers of this nature.
99 Bricks: Wizard Academy was set to be a free-to-play game, but the devs at WeirdBeard (great name) decided to go the premium route last month and shifted some things around to work with the new setup. There’s been no word on an Android release, but the full version of 99 Bricks: Wizard Academy can be yours for $2.99 on the App Store.
