Last week, Gameloft announced their plans to release their upcoming mobile first person shooter, Modern Combat 5, completely free of in-app purchases, and this week more details have been shared on their next big mobile title. One of the biggest parts of Gameloft’s FPS franchises have always been the online multiplayer, and Gameloft have made sure not to neglect the multiplayer in Modern Combat 5.
According to Gameloft, Modern Combat 5: Blackout will release with four different game modes – Capture the Flag, Free for All, Team Battle and VIP. Team Battle is obviously a team deathmatch, and VIP is a mode that randomly picks out one player to be the ‘VIP’ – he will have increased stats and the other players must work together to kill him.
In Modern Combat 5, whoever kills the VIP becomes the new VIP, and the cycle continues. Modern Combat 5 will also be able to support up to 12 players at once, and Gameloft are introducing a new clan system into the Team Battle mode. Players will be able to create their own squad, and go up against other squads in the new Squad Vs Squad mode.
Gameloft will be working on providing world events in Modern Combat 5 that can squads can compete against each other for. Upon completing an event, squad members will be given appropriate in-game rewards.
Modern Combat 5: Blackout is now set for release some time this Summer, so it shouldn’t be too long before we can learn all about the new FPS title from Gameloft.
