Survival games have seen a resurgence over the past couple of years, but it’s hard to find a good one on mobiles that doesn’t involve zombies. Scott Games Sit ‘N Survive does have a zombie or two, but the undead will be the least of your worries when you’re beating back bears and being pummeled by meteors. A zombie survival game it is not…
The goal of Sit ‘N Survive is to do exactly that – sit and survive. You’re hero sits in front of the fire night after night while nature throws various hazards his way and your job is to keep him alive for as long as possible. For me that’s been 16 days.
Things start out simple enough in Sit ‘N Survive. The first day you’ll get assaulted by bugs (mosquitoes we presume) which can be killed off with bug spray or a bug net. Each day it gets a bit more difficult, and by the time you hit double digits you’ll be dealing with bears and the occasional zombie before the tornadoes start blowing through.
Luckily, Sit ‘N Survive gives you a bit of defense against anything it throws at you. There are 28 items in the game, and each will protect you from a different danger. If bats become an issue, you can buy bat bait while a handy heat lamp can keep the cold at bay – you get the idea. There are a lot of items to choose from, but you’ll want to choose wisely if you plan on making it past a week.
You’ll get a little more money to spend each day, but you’ll want to manage it carefully as food and water have to be maintained as does your health. Bandages, water bottles and sandwiches can cure what ails you, but it’s going to set you back 10 bucks for 10 points in any of those areas.
There are no extras in Sit ‘N Survive, just three modes of play with Easy, Medium and Hard. There’s also no endgame – you just see how long you can last. It’s a nice change of pace actually as the game has no in-app purchases, ads, or permissions you need to worry about. It’s just you, your campfire, and the happiest music you’ll ever hear in a survival game.
Don’t let the simple graphics fool you as Sit ‘N Survive is a tough little game and it’s pretty darned addictive to boot. You may not play it for days on end, but it’s great in short bursts and certainly has that “one more go” type of feeling. If you’re in the mood for something different and a lot of fun, you can pick up Scott Games Sit ‘N Survive for $0.99 on Google Play or the App Store.
