It’s turning out to be an awesome week to be an Android gamer. We just told you about RBI Baseball 14 making its way to the Play Store, and now another Android holdout has dropped with Icebreaker: A Viking Voyage.
Icebreaker: A Viking Voyage is a physics-based tale that takes you on an epic journey to rescue your Viking buddies from the ice. You’ll have to slice up glaciers and get around all sorts of tricky obstacles to get your fellow Vikings back to their longboat. Of course, you’ll want to free them in as few slices as possible if you want a perfect score, but as you’d expect, it’s not all that easy.
By the numbers, Icebreaker: A Viking Voyage has 140 levels set across three different areas. There are some in-app purchases, but they are strictly optional and nothing you’ll have to have in order to complete the game. Icebreaker also has big bosses, side quests, and plenty of secrets so it’s not a game that’s going to bore you to death, and it should keep you busy for a while.
Icebreaker was one of the first two games announced under the Rovio Stars banner last year, and while we got one of those games (Tiny Thief), Icebreaker has been MIA until today. The game is now handled by the developer (Nitrome) instead of the publisher, and regardless of who brought it to Android, we’re glad to see it’s finally arrived. If you want to check it out, you can pick up Nitrome’s Icebreaker: A Viking Voyage for $0.99 on Google Play.
