Godzilla is scheduled to stomp into theaters in a few short weeks, and as with all summer blockbusters, we now have an official movie tie-in game thanks to Warner Bros.

Godzilla: Strike Zone puts you in the role of a paratrooper dropped into the city to help rescue hostages and stop the monster. The start of the game is just like the clip we see in all the trailers as you jump from a plane and zip down into the city where Godzilla is wreaking havoc.

There seem to be 3 different missions in Godzilla: Strike Zone with HALO Jump, Ground Rescue and Onto the Rooftops. As we just stumbled across the game this morning, we have only dealt with the HALO level so we have no idea how the other two sections play, but we assume it involves a lot of phone tilting action. One cool feature to note is the ability to record some of the action in-game and share it socially. Nothing groundbreaking, but cool nonetheless.Screenshot_2014-05-07-09-03-19

While we didn’t spend a great deal of time with Godzilla: Strike Zone, it’s a good looking game meant to draw attention to the new Godzilla flick. It’s not the type of game that’s going to keep you busy for days, but it’s worth a look and you can pick it up for free on Google Play.
