It’s safe to say that Baldur’s Gate was beloved by the RPG/AD&D crowd when it was released back in 1998. A remake of the popular game called Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition, came to iPad’s in December 2012 and after a lengthy wait, Beamdog has brought it over to Android.

Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition isn’t necessarily a game fans of casual mobile RPG’s, but if you dig the old-school D&D style of play, it’s going to be right up your alley. The ‘Enhanced Edition’ contains the original game which delivers up to 60 hours of gameplay along with the expansions Tales of the Sword Coast and The Black Pits. Needless to say, the game will keep you busy for a while.

In addition to the original content and expansions, you’ll have the choice to unlock even more content through in-app purchases if you choose to do so. The Premium content includes Brothers Lost, Neera and the Red Wizards, and Path of the Bloodied. There’s also mention of new professionally recorded voice sets and a gallery of heroes feature listed up the Premium side as well, although you’d think those two would be included in the original assets.baldurs.gate.enhanced

If you played the original Baldur’s Gate, you already know what to expect and if you’re new to the game it’s going to set you back $9.99 to see what all the hype is about. It’s steep, but you’re getting a lot of game for the price and the IAP’s while annoying are purely optional.
