Dong Nguyen’s Flappy Bird was an insanely huge hit soon after its and while many succumbed to its charm, its flight was short lived. The developer yanked the game from the App Stores, but tonight he reassured fans that Flappy will fly again, just not anytime soon…
We told you about Nguyen’s decision to pull Flappy Bird back in February, and while April is quickly approaching, the bird has been nowhere in sight. Unless you count the bazillion Flappy Bird clones that is. Today the dev took to Twitter to let fans know it was coming back, but not soon.
@painfullpacman Yes. But not soon.

Needless to say, the tweet sparked a frenzy of internet chatter and people flipped out somewhat. This is definitely good news if the game left a void in your life that you haven’t been able to fill with any of the hundreds of titles released since then.
I’m not a bandwagon type of guy, and I’ll wholeheartedly admit that I have never played Flappy Bird. That being said, I don’t think anyone is truly surprised to hear that the game is coming back, but it will be interesting to see if it can have the same kind of impact the second time around.
