We see a lot of mobile movie tie-in games, but it’s rare we actually get even a little bit excited about one like we did earlier today. 300: Seize Your Glory is a brand new game from the folks at Warner Bros. and it’s a tie-in to the upcoming flick 300: Rise of an Empire. Hack and slash at its finest or another movie-based dud? Read on to find out…300 seize your glory300: Seize Your Glory puts you in the role of the Greek general Themistocles as he goes to battle to stop the Persian invaders led by Artemisia. Anyone who’s seen 300 knows what the Spartans like to do, so it’s no surprise that 300: Seize Your Glory is a typical hack and slash game. The details are pretty sparse as the vague Play Store doesn’t tell you what to expect in terms of gameplay, levels or anything else oddly enough aside from plugging the upcoming 300: Rise of an Empire.

We gave 300: Seize Your Glory a brief play and you can expect a whole lot of hack and slash action, but not much else it seems. You basically walk around cutting down invaders with your sword on a boat, and unless we’ve missed something, there only appears to be 4 battles to complete. We got through the first one in 5 minutes or less.Screenshot_2014-02-06-12-27-06As with most movie tie-in games, our excitement about slicing off appendages died pretty quickly once we started playing 300: Seize Your Glory. It’s a good looking game, but there’s a lot more style than substance. Fans of 300 will still want to give the game a look, but if you’re looking for something a little more hardcore, you may want to skip this one. If you want to check it out, you can pick up 300: Seize Your Glory for free on Google Play.
