The long rumored HD remake of Halo: Combat Evolved has finally been announced. It is scheduled for a November 15th release date, exactly 10 years after the launch of the first Halo title.
Although not much is known about the remake, it seems that the game will support 1080p and 3D. The game will not be made on the Halo: Reach engine, and besides a visual makeover there will be a few minor gameplay changes. It is confirmed that there will be online co-op in the game, but whether or not the game will include a competitive multiplayer is unknown.
The remake is being made by Saber Interactive, the studio behind TimeShift. It is one of two Halo games currently being developed. The other game is being developed by Microsoft’s own Halo studio: 343 Industries. There are no screenshots or videos of the remake at this time.
