The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are no doubt the biggest news of the week, but the top selling game of the year has a treat lined up for gamers next Tuesday. GTA Online is finally set to release a big content update for the game with the Beach Bum update, and it’s bringing new races, vehicles, jobs, and weapons. There are some new hairstyles as well because you’ve got to be stylish when you’re driving around jacking folks and taking their loot.beach bum update
The Beach Bum update is coming to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in the form of the 1.06 game update, and we’re going to take a look at some of the new features you’ll be able to enjoy next week. First up are the new jobs which included new Deathmatches, Survivals, Gang Attacks, Parachutes, and Last Team Standing missions. While we don’t know exactly how many missions will be included, Rockstar highlighted a few of their favorites including an off-road race with Grass Route II and Survival on Del Perro Pier.

The vehicles will be available at no cost (in-game) and can be accessed in Story Mode as well as GTA Online. The weapons are a little disappointing as there are only two of them with the SNS Pistol and a broken bottle for melee combat. That said, they are free so you can use them right away without spending a penny – you just have to make it to Ammunation alive. If you’re ready to give your character a makeover, the Beach Bum update will take care of that as you’ll be able to give your character a beach vibe with new hair styles, tattoos, and clothing.

While the Beach Bum update may not be as massive as some would have liked, it’s a solid update and great for those of us who’ve been playing GTA Online from the jump. It may be the first true content update, but rest assured it won’t be the last as Rockstar still has a lot of things to add like co-op heists, Story Mode updates, and the Content Creator.
