It’s official, people.  Nintendo’s ailing Wii U console is officially dropping to $299 in North America.  This new price, which becomes official on September 20th, cuts $50 off the price of the Wii U Deluxe set.  Nintendo has also announced that they will release a special edition console that very same day.  The special Wind Waker set will include everything that normally comes with a Deluxe Wii U, as well as a digitalcopy of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, a digital copy of the wonderful Hyrule Historia, and a gamepad etched with gold, Zelda style graphics.

Kudos to Nintendo for recognizing that their console has a problem and taking steps to fix it.  Who will be joing on at the Wii U party?
