Capcom released a new trailer for their upcoming shooter Lost Planet 3. Get excited because the series is making a comeback by returning to the single player experience we all loved from the first game, only much more extreme and desolate than before. This time around, the single player campaign will only be single player, with a mix of Lost Planet goodness time spent in third-person shooter mode and inside a utility vehicle. Don’t fret, though; four online multiplayer modes are also on the way to quench that competitive thirst.

Need some bullet points? Lost Planet 3 will feature more danger and terror than any previous Lost Planet game. You’ll need to learn to use your tools on your Utility Rig to survive. The experience breaks the monotony with both first-person and third-person combat sequences. The game is developed in Unreal Engine 3 so expect to be blown away by the environments and presentation. Yeah, the Akrid are back and harvesting thermal energy will also be important. Oh, and the multiplayer modes will feature team based challenges, deathmatch battles, and survival modes. While you’re drinking all of that in, check out the Monologue trailer right after this sentence…

Lost Planet 3 is scheduled for release on August 27, 2013 on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. If you made it this far, you’ve probably already checked out the trailer above but, just in case you’ve been blinded by the next-gen hype as of late, here are the latest screenshots for you to feast your hungry gaming eyes on.
