If you hadn’t heard , not long ago achievements and a rating from a Brazilian certification board popped up online for something called Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. Nothing else was heard about Blood Dragon until Monday, when a promo site and a teaser trailer went live. The site has an absolutely wonderful yet equally dreadful  80’s theme to it. Of course, it’s important to point out that Monday was in fact April Fools, and Blood Dragon looks absolutely wacky enough to be a joke. However, the game is beginning to look like more and more of a reality as new screenshots were uncovered on NeoGAF today.

The standalone expansion to Far Cry 3 looks to be a tongue-in-cheek action movie homage inspired by the likes of movies such as Terminator and Tron. The description is as follows; “The year is 2007. It is the future. Earth has been ravaged by a nuclear war and new paths for peace must be found. A U.S. cyborg army may have found a solution: a powerful bioweapon on a distant island. A Mark IV Cyber Commando, Sergeant Rex Power Colt has been sent over to gather information and figure out what the hell is going on.”

Even more details emerge on the expansion, as well; on the promo site you can read a somewhat strange interview with Blood Dragon’s supposed director Alexis Graveyard. In addition to that, if you check the band Powergloves official soundcloud page, you find three amazing tracks listed for Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.

Oh, and did I also mention that Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon promises dragons with laser eyes? Blood Dragon looked in every way to be a great April Fools joke but seems to be a legitimate thing, and boy does it look absolutely amazing. All we need is official confirmation from Ubisoft. I know that I sure hope this isn’t a joke;  just looking at these screenshots gets me excited. Check out the teaser trailer and screenshots below, and make sure to stayed tuned for more details as they come.
